Quick Typing

About the course

This course provides will help you learn accurate touch-typing, using the correct technique which is still the best way to learn to type effectively, using Typingmaster Pro 7. Before you enrol you must be able to use a personal computer including keyboard and mouse on a basic level. This course will benefit all students plus attain one of the entry requirements into the Police Force or any member of the community needing to type tasks as a skill for their course/workplace.

Resources required

As this course will be delivered in Windows 10, it is expected that you have this operation system already loaded on your computer. Your computer or laptop must be operational. If it has any known fault that may disrupt your learning, it is recommended that you do not enrol into this course.
You are also expected to have Microsoft Word 2016, a good internet connection, a web camera (essential as the trainer will need to see your screen) and a printer (optional). Once you have enrolled, you will receive instructions on how to join the virtual classroom.


Whilst there is no pre-requisite to enrol into the course, you are required to complete the following online mouse skills tests and and send the result by email to admin@parramattacollege.com.au with your preferred course/s clearly stated in the email. Please click on TEST 1 and TEST 2 to access the tests. If you cannot open the tests on your computer, this may be a Flash plug in may need to be installed. You should see on the first screen if you need to install the plug-in. It’s only a mouse click away. Please note your enrolment may be denied if you do not send the mouse skills test result.



  • click onto "GAME START"
  • choose "LEVEL 1"
  • at each frame, click onto: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
  • in that order, as fast as you can
  • give us time, rate and miss

Note: you can do this as many times as you wish, then give us your best result.



  • start stop-watch
  • drag right hand side image to left, matching up the correct colours
  • when finished, stop stop-watch
  • click onto "Check"
  • do this until 'Your score is 100%"

Learning outcomes

Learn to use all your fingers with the alphabet and numeracy keys. You will work faster, and make fewer mistakes – a vital skill for today’s technological world.

Learning strategies

This course will be delivered in in a virtual classroom environment via video conferencing led by a qualified and industry experienced trainer. Learning methods will include face to face lecture via video conferencing, case studies, demonstrations, questions and answers.

Assessment strategies

There is no assessment for this course; however, the trainer may ask the participants to complete some activities to ensure they are gaining the intended skills.
