Accounting with Xero

 

This accredited course provides the basics of bookkeeping with practical training in XERO. You will learn to prepare financial records using manual bookkeeping and then learn how these records are kept using a computerised accounting system. On successful completion of competencies, you will receive a Statement of Attainment from FNS30322 - Certificate III in Accounts Administration.   Before you enrol you must be able to: create files and folders, open an application program, copy, rename, delete files, save, open and print a file. You will need to bring pen, notebook and calculator and preferably your own laptop / USB.

Prerequisite

Whilst there are no prerequisites for this course, it is expected that you have adequate language, literacy and numeracy skills and computer skills to be able to interact with peers, trainers and completing assessments using a computer in the classroom. Knowledge of basic accounting terminologies and processes preferred.

Please note that the current version of XERO accounting application must be already installed on your computer.  You will be able to download a 30 day trial version from XERO website: https://www.xero.com/au 

Outcomes

FNSACC314- Conduct business activities using a computerised accounting system
FNSACC321- Process financial transactions and extract interim reports  

This course also encompasses the essential functions of Xero software, which will help you consolidate your bookkeeping basics and learn how to use one of the best, full-featured accounting software packages for home or small business.

As well as the above learning outcomes, you should be able to:
Customise software
Create enterprise data
Record and track transactions

Delivery Strategies

Face to face classroom study led by a qualified and industry experienced trainer over 4 days - one day per week with an additional 4 hours per week home learning.  All participants will be supported by our qualified and skilled team throughout their learning journey.

Assessment strategies

Assessments will be conducted in both summative and formative manner to ensure the candidate can perform in accordance with the standard detailed in the relevant Training Business Services Package. Assessment strategies include knowledge questions, projects, case study analysis, Observations etc.

Eligible for Government funding?

How much I will be paying if I am not qualified for the Government Subsidy?

The course price is $650.00

LLN Skills required

This course requires strong language, literacy, and numeracy skills. At a very simple level, this means you need to understand the trainer and can communicate with the trainer in English. You also need to understand accounting terminologies.
