TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is the current qualification from the superseded TAE40116 Certificate IV Training and Assessment. The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment now has 12 UOC,10 upgrade units, plus an additional two full units BSBAUD412 Work within compliance frameworks & TAEPDD401 Work effectively in the VET sector. Credit Transfers (CT) may apply and will be determined at enrolment.
To enrol in this upgrade course you must have the TAE40116 qualification.

Assessment strategies - Assessments will be conducted in both summative and formative manner, consisting of short answer questions, research, and workplace-based projects. In case, learners are unable to find a real-life workplace for their project, a simulation may be arranged in the classroom. The candidate must show evidence of the ability to complete tasks outlined in the elements and performance criteria of this unit.
What does the assessment involve? Please note assessments for this course involve significant work both during and after the sessions. You will have maximum of two attempts to submit your assessments. Any additional submissions will incur a fee.
You will have the opportunity to complete Option 1, which is assessment evidence or Option 2, which is workplace evidence and industry currency of 2 continuous years as a trainer and assessor.
There is also theoretical knowledge that will need to be completed, regardless of Option 1 or 2.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) We understand some learners may have already participated in assessment validation and planning for assessment activities and processes as part of their role. If you believe you can demonstrate current experience and/or relevant qualifications that match the competency requirements for units within this course, please consult with the Course Coordinator to apply for recognition.
Pre-requisite for this course Those undertaking this qualification must be able to demonstrate vocational competence in their proposed training and assessing area. Vocational competence is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
You will need strong language, literacy and numeracy skills to be able to successfully complete the required study and assessments in this course. You will also need good computer knowledge e.g. create documents using MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint, use internet including search engines, print and share documents via email to successfully complete the course.
